Gill. Welland studied at Epsom School of Art and Design in the early nineties.  On completion of her degree, she freelanced as an illustrator from a studio in Camden Town, North London.  Although her prime interest lay in painting, Gill. was drawn into experimenting with commercial art, working on fast jobs and tight deadlines.  During this period she worked for well known monthly publications, illustrating for many editorial pages and Fashion/Fabric designers such as Pam Hoggs and Index.

Although her training has come from a fashion and textile background (it's the colour and texture that dominates her paintings) she is inspired by nature and abstract, working in many layers onto canvas using various mediums.

Now resident and working in Spain, Gill. has shown and sold her work in many exhibitions and is currently exhibiting at various galleries throughout the country as well as undertaking private commissions.
