The airbrush was key to Mervyn Beaver’s desire to pursue a career in Vehicle Custom Paintwork. In 1975 he took up a position alongside Geoff Ridgeway. Who was then the country’s top custom painter. Working across the length and breadth of the country. From bases in Cornwall, Manchester and London. This partnership led to the design and execution of many prize-winning murals and paint schemes. Including design and promotional work for companies such as Ford UK, Badger and Devillbis. A revival of this art form in the mid nineties brought Mervyn back to the fore. Mervyn painted the car ‘Limefire’ which was voted the ‘Best Streetrod in Europe’ at the 1997 European Street Rod Nationals. Also the Dodge van ‘Living Legends’ This vehicle won the accolade of Best Paintwork and Murals at every show it entered in for two years.
